Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. You can use a true second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer (which takes a portion of memory from the main computer but doesn't require a restart). If this doesn't work, another option is to run a second computer with an older version of Windows. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator.
Then choose the compatibility tab and set the Program to always run as compatible with XP. This may work directly - right click on the installer and choose Properties.
(The other thing to try is the compatibility mode.
I do not know the limitations of the update software. Drivers and installers have changed over time. There are software updates for the Customizer 10000.
